Adenocarcinoma is a cancer of epithelia originating in glandular tissue. The cancer pertaining to large intestine in your friend is Adenocarcinoma of large intestine. As you are mentioning that you it is spreading to liver which states that there is a metastasis. This may be advanced stage.
