My daughter has snores at night when she sleeps and at times I feel she gets suffocated. During the day also when she breathes you can hear her strong breathing. she has gone to doctor. She has taken an antibiotic and gargle for mouth and throat and a cortisone injection has been done to her. Her symptoms have decreased but still they are here what should I do. Please help.

Hello, Greetings from myyog.com, Snoring is a modified respiratory act if there is any kind of obstruction or disturbance in passage of respiratory system, there may be chance of breathing difficulty and in order compensate adequate breathing, there may be modified breathing which is happening in your daughter. In your daughter, there is disturbance in throat, like due to tonsils and due to tonsillitis there may be snoring or throat irritation. It is better if she can practice breathing exercises. There are ayurvedic medicines and other system of medicines which are very helpful to maintain breathing difficulty. If there is deviated nasal septum, there may be chance of snoring and if there is any disturbances in nasal cavity there may be chances of snoring. Hence, one should correct the issues either with surgery if indicated or with medications if the condition is manageable with alternative therapies.
