Hello,

Hydrocele can occur in children and as well as in elderly. The accumulation of fluid in the sac like structure which surrounds the testicle.

Though surgery is indicated, in few cases, there will be fine needle aspiration is performed.

Hydrocele is painless, but if occurred due to trauma, then there is a chance of pain. It hampers lifestyle. Hydrocele may affect on sperm production.

In modern science, tapping or fine needle aspiration, or surgery is mentioned.

In Ayurveda, along with diet, you can follow medicines and some regimen which is very useful to control hydrocele. However, if the surgery is inevitable, you can proceed for that after trying these medicines.

Adequate fresh fruit diet like grapes, oranges, pineapple etc are useful for continuous days. Lemon juice is also useful. Using herbs like Grithakumari, Amla, Termeric, Triphala, daruharidra are useful. Cold sitz bath is indicated. One should avoid strenuous or forceful exercises and wear suspensory bandage if necessary.

Yoga and pranayama like anulomaviloma pranayama and Vajrasana are indicated.

Some recommended ayurvedic medicines like Kanchanara guggulu, Vriddivadhika Vati, Punarnavarishtam, and for local application Dashangalepam is used.

Panchakarma treatment: Virechana karma is indicated.
