Ayurvedic treatments for Amyloidosis 
Is there any supportive ayurvedic therapies for treating Amyloidosis? Please suggest few home remedies and diet.

Hello, Amyloidosis is a progressive metabolic disease which is incurable, characterized by abnormal deposits of protein in one or more organs and they are different types of amyloidosis even it may be associated with Alzheimer’s disease. There will be secondary amyloidosis in granulomatous ileitis, Hodgkin’s disease, leprosy, osteomyelitits, rheumatoid arthritis etc. As symptoms depend on organs involved such as shortness of breath, heart murmurs. Swelling of lower limbs if kidneys are involved, numbness and tingling if nervous system is involved. Other systemic illnesses depending on involvement of organs. The goal of treatment is to slow down or stop production of amyloid protein. In patients, diet would be diuretics and low-salt diet if kidneys and heart is involved. Ayurvedic medicines such as Brihathyadi kashayam, Chandraprabha Vati are useful medicines. Kindney Medicine Package may be consumed according to physicians advice. High-calories and low proteins diet or diet without protein is advised, and high carbohydrate diet is indicated. For more details, you can contact us.
