Fenugreek seed and Thalassemia Minor

Hello Dr,
I am 28years old female. I just found out that my LDL is 138 and HDL is 40, so someone suggested me taking 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds everyday but I read somewhere that Fenugreek seeds shouldn't be taken if you have anemia.
Should I take them or not? I and my husband are soon planning for a baby.
What other remedies to lower the cholesterol?
