Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Gout is mentioned as Vata rakta in Ayurveda. It is due to the vitiated vata and rakta. So medicines that normalise the vitiated vata and rakta will reduce the symptoms of Vata rakta like pain and swelling.

Medicines like Maharasnadi kadha, Kaisora guggulu, chopchinyadi churnam and Mahanarayana thailam from Baidyanath are effective. Along with that eat healthy foods with less protein. Avoid red meat, organ meat, butter, oil, refined flour, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, dairy products, coffee, tea, colas. Reduce Sodium and control foods rich in potassium, phosphorus and purine rich foods like peas, nuts, beans, mushrooms, asparagus, chicken, fish, yeast and avocados. Reduce salt. Drink enough water. Do mild and gentle exercise.
