Kapalbhati after Laparascopy this question feed

leenaka, 28 January 2010 11:25

Pranam Dr,

I had a laparascopy to remove ovarian cysts and treatment of endometriosis and trapped ovarian syndrome on 14th October 2009. This was my 3rd one in the last 4 years.

I have continued to do 30 minutes to 1 hour of anulom vilom everyday since October. When can I start to do Kapalbhati and for how many minutes should I do it?

What is the maximum duration I can do it for eventually?

Also my cysts have come back and I am still getting alot of pain, can you suggest any medicines or other pranayams? I have been told to take the contraceptive pill and have a mirena coil fitted. I take homeopathic medicine but it isn't helping.

Leena (UK) 31 years

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Hello madam, i have already posted a reply for your query, please go through. Since you have recurrence of ovarian cysts, you can workout for preventing recurrences, as I have already suggested kind of diet and Asanas, please go through that and get me back if any doubts persists.

Regarding Kapalbhati, you can do for 30 minutes along after anuloma-viloma pranayama apart from these Sarvagasana, Matsyasana, Ardhmatsyendrasana, Paschimottanasana, Surya namaskar, Ushtrasana and all backward bending asana are recommended but they should be try under the supervision of an expert. The Ushtrasana and Pashchimottasana are more effective.

There are some medicated decoctions such as INDUKANTHAM KASHAYAM and SUKUMARA KASHAYAM in combination you need to take 30 ml daily two times before food, apart from earlier medicines which I have suggested to you.

Take plenty of fresh buttermilk which will help you to reduce pitta guna in your body. with regards. Dr.Vijay.
