Kidney Problem 

Dear Sir,

I am Mr.R.Balasubramanian residing in Nashik,(Maharashtra).I am 53 years old and is working for a public limited company .My contact number is 09###952156

I would like to highlight in brief from the beginning of the problem to the Nefrectomy of my left kidney .

In the year 2008, June 3rd early morning, I had flank pain on the left side and it was so severe that neither I could sit nor stand. I immediately approached a hospital where the doctor did sonography and found that there is severe Hydronephrosis of left kidney. They also conducted IVP test and found that the left kidney doesn't excrete the die injected. . Several other test like Nuclear Diuretic Renal Scan etc. were also conducted which were again confirming that the left kidney was not functioning. Finally it was informed to me by the panel of doctors that the left kidney has failed and they need to do Nefrectomy ( removal of kidney).I had no other option left at that point of time but to surrender myself to their decision. Nefrectomy of my left kidney was done on 24th June 2008 and at that time my GFR was 47.

In the month of April 2009, I went for routine pathological test wherein it was found that the GFR was 38. I immediately consulted a Nephrologist who put me on some Allopathy medicines and following are the medicine details which I am taking even today and undergo pathological test every month.

1. NEPHROCAP 2. NEPHROSAVE 3.ATORLIP-F 4. LORSAVE 25 5. ZYLORIC-100mg 6. RAMISAVE 2.5mg , 7. KETOLOG , 8.SOBISIS

I am not Diabetic and my Blood Pressure is well under control.i.e 80/122. My weight is ranging between 65 to 66 kgs . My height is 5' 11".

Some six months back I contacted Patanjali clinic, Nashik and the Vaidh prescribed following medicines which I am taking regularly . 1.VRIKKDOSHHAR KWATH + NEEM & PEEPAL CHAL 2.VRIKKDOSHHAR VATI 3.CHANDRAPRABHAVATI 4. GOKSHURADI GUGGUL 5. HAJARUL YAUAD,SWA VASANT KUSUMAKAR, GILOYA SAR BHASMA.

Item no.1 I am taking on empty stomach morning and evening. Also I take juice of Neem leaves in the morning and Juice of Peepal leaves in the evening. Besides I also take mixture of Aloevera and Lowki juice with warm water.

I have been religiously doing PRANAYAM i.e. BHASTRIKA, KAPALBHATI, BHAGIYA, ANULOM VILOM, BHAMRI & UDAGEET for the last 5 years both morning and evening. Kapalbhati and Anulom vilom for 30 minutes each and rest of the Pranayams for 15 to 20 minutes. I am also doing some of the Aasanas which include SUPT BRAJASAN,SURYA NAMASKAR, SASAKASAN, GOMUKASAN , MAKARASAN , DHANUSASAN , SARWANGASAN , MATYASAN , BHUJANGASAN , ARDHA MATYASAN , and go for 30 minutes morning walk.

Following are my diet patern for your reference.

BREAKFAST : Poha, Uppama , Idli , Dosa

LUNCH & DINNER : Roti(phulka) , Rice, Butter milk, Vegetables like Snake Gourd, Ridge Gourd, Ladies Finger, White Pumkin, Onion, Potato, Methi, Lowki, Simla Mirch ,Karela ,Drum stick ,Cucumber , Carrot , Radish , Moong Dal (sometimes only).

FRUITS : Apple , Musambi , Papaya , Peru

JUICES : Amla , Aloe Vera, Gokharu, Lowki

WATER : 2.5 to 3 ltrs. per day

NOTE : I have considerably reduced my salt intake. All other fruits and Vegetables I have avoided as per the doctor's advise. I never take Tea, Coffee or any cold or hot drinks .

From the above given information , you can see that though I have maintained complete discipline in my food habit and religiously doing pranayam and taking patanjali a Ayurvedic medicines as prescribed, the functioning of my right kidney is not that satisfactory.

I humbly request you to kindly guide me whether the medicines prescribed to me are ok or not and also suggest/recommand me if any other Ayurvedic medicines are to be taken in order to bring the functioning of my right kidney to a satisfactory level and also maintain this level for ever.

I am very much concerned about the fluctuation of my GFR and 24 hrs URINE PROTEIN.

The 24 hrr Urine Protein from May.09 to Mar.10 is as follows. 320,750,1400,1125,630,253,875,180,339 And my GFR is as follows: 38,48,67,80,47,68,46,64,91 My S.Creatinine is as follows: 1.7, 1,4, 1,4, 1.75, 1.5, 1.7, 1.4, 1.3, 1.5, 0.98
