Piles can be explained as enlarged and engorged blood vessels in and around the rectum (anus). These may be accompanied by pain, bleeding and itching. There are many causes such as irregular diet, improper digestion, metabolic disorders, chronic constipation, obesity, stress and strain, certain types of jobs also lead to piles which may appear in different forms.

The best way is to prevent the condition. Piles can be prevented by adopting a healthier lifestyle and avoid stressful life. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day. Have high-fiber foods like green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grain cereals like wheat, barley, oats, corn, rice etc. Take fresh butter milk regularly. Establish regular bowel habits and avoid constipation. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, coffee and tea, which irritate and aggravate piles. Try to reduce weight if you are obese, with regular exercise and diet control. Avoid prolonged sitting or standing positions as it puts pressure on the anorectal region.

Yoga and pranayama:

Surya Namaskara Sarvanga Asana Shirsha Asana Tada Asana Padahasta Asana Matsya Asana Pavanamukta Asana Mulabandha Pranayama (anuloma-viloma pranayama)

Nadi shodhan and Bhastrika Yoga nidra

Note: These Yogasanas and pranayama to be practiced under expert trainer for the beginners.

Suggested medications: Divya Arshkalp Vati, Triphala, Abhayaristam.and Ashokarishtam.

For further queries, please feel free to ask. With regards,

Dr.Vijay.
