Green tea is very popular in Japan, China & other nations in Asia & is becoming more popular in Western nations. Some reports suggest that green tea might be able to help prevent skin cancer, esophagus, stomach, colon, pancreas, lung, bladder, prostate & breast cancer.

**Green Tea compositions**

Green tea contains chemicals called polyphenols, which have antioxidant properties. The large group of polyphenols in green tea are called catechins, & appears to be most important catechin epigallocatechin-3-gallate . EGCG can kill cancer cells die in the same way as normal cells. This effect is important because cancer cells differ from normal cells do not die when shouldthey continue to grow & spread.

**Green Tea medicinal properties**

Herbalists use green tea & extracts of its leaves for stomach health health problems, vomiting & diarrhea & to reduce tooth decay, blood pressure, cholesterol, & blood vessel blockages in the heart that can cause heart attacks . Green tea is also promoted as preventing certain bacterial infections. In recent years, some researchers have suggested that black tea can also be effective in preventing cancer. These statements are being studied.
