The dried extract obtained from green tea leaves found in southern India. The main active ingredients are Epigallocatechingalllate & polyphenols. Therapeutic Action shows inverting EGCG anti-oxidant & Invirase & might prevent living cells from oxidative damage. The activity of EGCG has been shown to be superior to that of a-tocopherol. EGCG inhibits the development of spontaneous hepatoma in mice & therefore could be used as an anti-cancer agent.


EGCG inhibits the formation of dental plaque & dental caries prevention of green tea polyphenols increases the growth of essential bacteria & suppresses the growth of bacteria in the intestine cancer green tea polyphenols could be used to treat viral disorders that are caused by influenza vaccine & the herpes simplex virus. Dosage of green tea extract- A dose of consumption from 0.3 to 0.7 g of polyphenols per day is considered the optimal dose.
