Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Fissure is the tear in the anal region and causes pain after the bowel movement. Hard bowel movements trigger the pain as it puts pressure in the anus. So diet must be taken in such a way that softens the stool with regular bowel movements.

Massaging the anus with warm castor oil will lubricate the anus facilitating better bowel movement. Triphala churnam - one tsp with warm water can be taken at bedtime after food to ease the bowel movements.

Ayurvedic medicines like Gandharvahastadi kwath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily and Kaisora guggulu - 2tablets before food twice daily can be taken for a month and then reviewed. Sitting in warm sitz bath will help to improve the circulation as well as the healing.

Include figs, yam, berries, small onion, fiber, complex carohydrates, turmeric and raisins. Reduce excess canned foods, refined flour, oil, sugar and salt. Try to drink enough water and having good sleep will be beneficial. Yogasanas like Navasana, Trikonasana, Padmasana, Pavanmuktasana, Bhujangasana, Padahasthasana and Vajrasana are beneficial.
