I have skin itching in pelvic area and both legs. its usually at morning and night. i used dermadew lotion but no use. please advise any ayurvedic medicine and or dietary change.

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Itching is seen in some systemic illness but , most commonly happens due to ab allergic reaction. I shall suggest you with the basic medicines that will help to relieve the itching. If it persists it is necessary to do certain tests to find out the cause of itching due to systemic causes.

Ayurvedic medicines like Divya Kayakalp kvath, madusnuhi rasayan - 1tsp before food twice daily and Haridra capsule can be taken for a month and then reviewed. Sometimes external applications will not be efficient to reduce the itching. You can apply Melas lotion for a soothing effect.

Include bottle gourd, easily digestable cooked food, turmeric, tender coconut, cumin, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Reduce excess meat, caned foods, fish, chicken, cold refrigerated food, oil, salt and sweet. Try to wear cotton clothes that will be comfortable. Try not to scratch as it will increase the tendency to do more.

Hello, Skin itching or pruritis refers to kandu in ayurveda which is mainly caused by pitta alleviation in skin due to ama production in body.Slow jatargni causes improper digestion and thereby produce the ama dosha.According to ayurvedic treatment, digestive fire should be controlled. Ayurvedic medications recommenmdations are as follows- 1.Pathyadi lepa-apply locally twice a day and lket it dry 2.gandhak rasayan-1 tablet thrice a day with luke warm water after meals. 3.khadira aristha-30ml in equal amount of water twice a day after meals 4. maha manjisthadi kwath-30ml in equal amount of water twice a day after meakls. In panchkarma swedana kriya is done to purify the skin by excessive sweating and thus balancing the raised pitta dosha in skin.Vaman and virechana is also done to purify the skin.Spicy and oily foods should be avoided while cool and natural foods should be taken.Drink plenty of fluids to allow the skin to flush the toxins via sweating. Avoid wearing tight cloths as the sweat remaining in pores irritate the skin more and increases the itch.
