Thyroid this question feed

asked by manna on 31 July 2010 15:25

Sir, This is my second mail to u. I have Hypothyroidsm + PCOD . Recently i came to know tht may husband is also having Hypothyroidsm. Tsh level of both of us is between 5 to 5.5 approx. I was having Tsh in range all the time but having Homeopathy treatment for PCOD for last 7 month i got TSH level increased. I want to know tht when i have to conceive in future(second time ) then is it necessary that my husband's T# T$ and TSH level should be in range. ( I know tht i should have these levels in range). Also is there any chance that our kids will be having same problem? Plz reply ....

Hello,

As you and your husband are suffering from hypothyroidism, there may be chances of thyroid complaints in your children. Hence regular family checkups is necessary to take preventive measures.

It is better that you both should go for regular health checkups, and bring the hormonal levels to normalcy to avoid risks of the disease. For more details, you can contact endocrinologist.

With regards,

Dr.Vijay.
