Tonsil Stones (tonsilloliths) 
Hello,
Every couple of months, I get a Tonsil Stone (tonsilloliths). How do I get rid off it? Please advise.

Hello, Tonsils are considered as vestigial organs in body. They are filled with nooks and crannies where bacteria and dead cells collect. If the collected debris hardens or calcifies, Tonsilloliths are formed. This may happened for those who suffer from frequent tonsillitis. Symptoms would be sore throat, bad breath, white debris coming from back of throat, difficulty in swallowing, ear pain, tonsil swelling etc. If the condition is mild to moderate, it will be asymptomatic, and with some home remedies, this can be treated. In allopath, the final solution would be tonsillectomy for those who suffers from recurrent tonsillitis. Simple home care is salt water gargles. You can add 5 pinch of turmeric powder in saltwater and use as gargles. Avoid consuming cold food items, oily foods, spicy foods in excess. Oral hygiene is important. Other home remedies such as chewing some garlic pieces and holding that extract for 1 minute is useful. Following medicines are very helpful such as Tulasi, Sualin, and septilin.
