Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

I shall suggest the basic medicines that will help to improve the vision. The damage to the optic nerve affects the vision due to the degeneration of the axons. In that case, the medicines will help to strengthen the nerve and will support for a better vision.

Ayurvedic medicines like Divya MahaTriphala Ghrit - 1tsp before food twice daily and SaptamritLauh tablets - one tablet after food twice daily can be taken for a month and reviewed.

Akshitarpanam is bathing the eyes in medicated ghee like patoladi ghrit by making a fence with blackgram dough. It helps to improve the vision by strengthening the nerves.

Include carrots, spinach, pumpkin, broccoli, capsicum, gooseberry, curryleaf and red peppers. Reduce excess carbonated beverages, canned foods, salt, sweet and pungent foods. Exercises like closing, opening eyes, palming, viewing closer and far objects or prints, rotating the eyeballs and reading in candle light will be beneficial. Please do have regular checkups as advised by your treating physician.
