Alternative, Herbal or Ayurvedic medicines 
Dear Doctor,
I am great lover of natural treatments and therapies and also seek solution of my health problems in only natural therapies, but I really do not understand the difference between Alternative medicines - Herbal medicines - Ayurvedic medicines, Are they same ? if not what is the difference among them. Are the ingredients different and natural used in all these kind of medicines?
Also I have known that these alternative, herbal and ayurvedic medicines do not have any side effects is it true ?
Are these medicines better the allopathic medicines?

Hello sir, We are happy to clarify your doubt. Apart from modern system of medicine that is allopath, there is other set of practice which is classified by WHO, that is alternative therapies. Alternative therapies include all supportive therapies which are practice in each and individual continents. In alternative therapies, ayurveda, homeopathy, yoga and pranayama, acupressure, acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, etc are included. Ayurveda includes the knowledge of life and its maintenance. The source of ayurvedic medicine is from herbs and hence ayurvedic medicine can also called as herbal medicine. There is other system of medicine is called Siddha medicine, where herbo-mineral medicines are used under permissible levels. Other system of medicine is Unani Where the herbal preparations are bit different from ayurveda. As modern science indicates alternative medicine as supporting and plays important role in curing the disease. It is believed ayurveda acts as rescue for chronic diseases which is given up by allopath medicines. I hope you understand the difference between the system of medicines .
