dear sir, i am neeraj kumar (male).my age is 21 years.my height is 188cm. my weight is 60 kg. i wants to increase my weight.please help me in increasing my weight.

Expert's Advice:- Hello, Body mass index or BMI is a statistical tool that helps in determining what a persons weight should be, based on his or her height. A person is considered to be underweight if their BMI is less than 18.5. In your case you are around 17(16.98), so you are underweight. The first thing you need to do to increase your weight is to eat well. Eat more than you burn calories. Eating food, which contains more fat is good for people who are thin. Drinking milk, cheese, chicken meat etc are some foods, which contain more fat. Gradually increase your whole day’s caloric intake. Have small meals at frequent intervals. Start your breakfast with a bowl of whole cereals and milk. Add some nuts or dry fruits like raisins, cashew nuts, almonds, dried figs etc. Consume energy dense foods such as mango milkshake, banana milkshake, nuts soaked in milk. Consume dry fruits like figs, dates and raisins 4-5 number in a day. Your major meals can include whole cereal wheat, rice or bread along with a serving of chicken, fish or lean meat or pulses and yoghurt. Sprouted green gram is good and helpful to gain weight.
