Vocal Cord nodules 
My son (Age 6)has vocal cord nodules and he voice is very hoarse and most of the times not audible at all. Doctors suggest speech therapy or surgery. Is there an ayurvedic medicine that we provide cure?

Hello, As it is clear that due to nodules, there is hoarseness of voice in your children. This may be due to many reasons like long term exposure of cold and cough, or sinusitis complaint. There are many home remedies to maintain proper functioning of vocal cords. If the nodules are smaller, with the help of alternative therapies and complimentary medicines, it can be rectified. Certain home remedies like using honey for gargling (1 to 2 tsp for gargling) is very helpful. Lemon (10 drops) and ginger juice 1 tsp along with honey should be consumed daily. Localized fomentation is useful. Turmeric powder ½ tsp with warm water and added salt is used for gargling. Consuming milk wit turmeric powder is useful. Ayurvedic medicines like KADHIRARISHTAM and INDUKANTHA KASHAYAM in the combination to be consumed 20 ml twice a day after food. Before consuming the medicine, hold it for 1 min in oral cavity then consume. Consuming Tulasi (fresh leaves) along with jaggery, black pepper seeds (8), dry ginger, mixed all together and boiled in 2 parts of water and reduced to 1 part and consume frequently is useful for vocal cord nodules.
