Yogasanas are inseperable part of yog and tantrasadhana (mystic practices). Although they are being used only for physical purposes only however their usage for mental and spiritual development is in no way less. Moreover in some of the realms theses are very essential for the mental and spiritual development. Loosing balance between the mental and physical abilities physical advantages are lost in some cases. YOGA and YOGASANAS

Yoga word is derived from Sanskrit and that means binding. The word yoga is explained in many ancient texts. The term yoga is explained in many ways and the meaning is the same and in total it is called suppressing or controlling the fluctuations of mind or consciousness. This process is called yoga.

In ancient texts, it is explained that to achieve yoga, one has to pass 8 steps among which “Asanas” or “Postures” “Yoga postures” are explained.

Asanas or postures are third stage of Ashtanga yoga, which keeps the body healthy and strong, it helps to maintain harmony.

Asanas means any kind of postures or poses which makes the person stable and comfortable. This is called as asana or yoga postures.

In modern era, yoga postures are misunderstood by many as they only keep the body fit, but the fact is different. As performing yoga will keep the body and mind fit.

Yoga is very helpful for rectifying the wrong deeds and having positive approach.

Yoga poses are very helpful to keep the body and mind in harmony with nature.

Hence yoga and Yoga postures are different. Yoga means a process of achieving “Samadhi” or “super consciousness” which is practiced very rarely.

Now a days yoga poses are taken as therapeutic tool or fitness tool, however, most of the people are showing interest in yoga postures as these postures are found effective to keep body fit but along with these postures, if we do pranayama and meditation, this will help to achieve mental stability and realization of self.

Yoga is very much practiced worldwide as it is having positive impact on physical, mental, and spiritual factors.

Pranayama is also included in yoga which plays very important role.
