Yoga for back pain this question feed

Hello doctor, I have low back ache, reports shows that i have lumbar spondylitis. Is there any yoga poses for spondylitis? Is there any speicial care to be taken for spondylitis while doing yoga?

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Hello,

Several yoga postures are available which can help improve the back pain.It shall be noted that one who is diagnosed with spinal stenosis should avoid extreme spinal extension. Thus before practising yoga postures , consult an experienced yoga master or naturopathist with investigation reports as to anlyse which posture suits best and which postures to be avoided. Here i shall suggest a few yoga poses which generally is helpful for a lower back pain.

  • Tadasana or mountain pose - This pose helps in streching and elongating the back muscles.It strengthens and tones the hip and hamstring muscles.

  • Trikonasana - Also known as triangle pose. This pose eases the back pain by correcting posture. It is also seen to strengthen back muscles and hamstring.

  • Marjariasana also known as cat pose - This posture shall be maintained for upto 15 seconds. It stretches and strengthens the back muscles, tones the abdominal muscles and eases out back pain.

These postures shall be practiced strictly under the guidance of an experienced yoga master.

Hello,

Backache is a common complaint among all ages of people.Poor or a bad posture,wrong sleeping positions,stress and restless lifestyles are the main causes for backache. Performing yoga is very helpful to relieve backache. There are several asanas for backache and spondylitis. They are Pavan muktasana,Shalabha asana,Trikonasana,Bhujangasana etc. Practice these yoga postures gently with caution as doing then incorrectly might results in serious back problems.It is better to learn yoga from an instructor before you start practicing at your home. Perform breathing techniques to energize the system.Practice yoga postures daily which helps to strengthen the back muscles by stretching regularly. Pregnant women should consult a Doctor before doing these yoga postures.If you have any serious problems like slip disc or arthritis it is always better to consult your Doctor before trying out any of these yoga postures.Maintain a healthy weight.

i have back proplm ..... Aaprox3 to 4 year no any medician can work plzzzzzz suggest any god medician..... when soo ke uthana ke baaad pura kaamar jasa lagta haai tut gaya ho.... Bahut dard hota hai aur hmasa ek mitha mitna dard rahataa hai jb koi kam kaarta haai to jada bar jata hai

Respectfully sir,mujhe bhut kamar dard rehta hai, dard taang mein jaata hai, left foot mein numbness hai,subh jab bhi uthta hoon toh kamar bhut zeyada dukhti hai,main kabhi kabhi shilaajit gold cap.Kha leta hoon, M.R.I karvayi thi usmein nerve press ho jane ki baat likhi hai L4,L5 KOI SIR UPAYE BATAYEIN. Main aapka shukarguzaar rahunga.

Back pain treatment with Yoga

To get permanent relief from back ache so that it should not occur in future Yoga is essential. Yoga asana and exercise makes the spine strong. Nerves and arteries become strong and flexible. Instead of taking rest when fatigued one should exercise and do Yog Asana.

The asanas which help backache patients are uttanpada asana, pawanmukta asana, shashaka asana, vakra asana, ardha matsyendra asana, purna matsyendra asana, setubandh asana, markataasana, katiuttanpada asana, dhanura asana, shalbha asana and surya namaskar. In back ache anulome viloma also should be done. By doing this seventy two crore, seventy two crore ten thousand and two hundred nadis (nerves) are purified. When all the nadis are purified the body lighten up, becomes healthy and strong.

Yoga for back pain

Back pain occurs due to many reasons like lumbar spondylitis, sciatica, sprain, or any surgeries etc, these disorders occur due to ligament wear and tear, due to weight lifting, slip disc, tumors, constipation, etc.

Performing yoga is very helpful to get rid from back pain.

One should take care while doing yoga and proper diet also should be followed.

Along with other system of medicines like ayurveda, siddha medicines, one can perform yoga regularly to attain positive results.

There are few yoga postures which are very helpful to prevent low back ache and spondylitis.

PawanMuktasana, Shavasana, Bhujangasana, Uttanapadasana, Shalabhasana, EkpadaUttansana are indicated.

Modifications can be done for these postures of yoga according to the condition of the patient. These postures are helpful are stretching type which enhances proper blood circulation.

Pranayama can be done like anuloma-viloma pranayama, Nadi shodhana pranayama are indicated. Pranayama relieves mental strain.

These yoga poses are very helpful and it removes stiffness, flexibility of joints and maintains proper posture.

If there are any recent surgeries, then avoid doing these yoga postures till you attain stability and can perform pranayama regularly.

One should perform yoga in empty stomach.

Avoid doing yoga rapidly.

If proper care is taken while doing yoga for low back ache, we can expect fruitful results.
