Yoga for thyroid this question feed

Hello, My mother is suffering from hyperthyroidism, in order to prevent thhyroidism in me, is there any yoga poses? whether yoga helps to cure thyroidism, is there any preventive measures?

Yoga for thyroid complaint

There are two complaints related to thyroid, they are hypothyroidism , and hyperthyroidism. Due to less secretion and high secretions of growth hormones leading to imbalance of the functioning of gland respectively may lead to cluster of symptoms like excessive sweating, overweight or losing weight, irritability, obesity etc.

In order to maintain proper glandular functioning, and in order to prevent the symptoms and manage the body weight, you can go for alternative treatments like ayurveda, homeopathy, yoga and pranayama.

Along with ayurvedic treatments, yoga and pranayama are very beneficial for maintaining the proper functioning of the gland, and as well as pranayama helps to reduce the stress levels and irritability.

There are certain yoga postures, which are very helpful to maintain hormonal balance.

Parvathasana, Sarvangasana, Matsyasana, Surya Namaskara, and Pavanamuktasanas are indicated. Pranayamas like Ujjayai Pranayama, Nadi shodhan, Jalandhara Bandha are very helpful.

Yoga mudra and yoga nidra are also very useful.

As thyroid and associated glands like parathyroid, pineal, pituitary, and adrenal glands which plays important role in thyroidism and its functioning, with the help of yoga and pranayama, this can be rectified.

However, one should take care while doing these yoga poses. Follow strict rules like doing yoga for thyroid complaint and associated complaints.

Yoga helps to maintain hormonal balance which in turn helps to maintain the normalcy of thyroid function.

Yoga for Thyroid

  • Do Ujjayi pranayama and other yogas which helps in throat problems. This can cure thyroid disorder from root if yoga and pranayama is practiced regularly.

  • Sarwangasana, Halasana, Matsyasana, ushtrasana, ardhchandrasana, sinhasana are very important asana for thyroid problem.

  • Practice bhastrika, anuloma viloma and kapalbhati pranayama daily. Also practice Nadi shodhan.

  • Use food which helps curing constipation with rich in fiber, like salads, green vegetables and drink eight to ten glasses of water daily. Also practice Vajrasana after lunch and dinner.

  • Practicing goumukhasana, makrasana, bhuganasana, dhanurasana, shalbhasana can also produce good results in curing thyroid.
